Christian Counseling in Bend, Oregon
Therapy that welcomes your faith. For many people, faith isn’t a detail – it’s the foundation. If you’ve hesitated to start therapy because you weren’t sure a counselor would respect that, this page is for you.
What Christian counseling means here
Christian counseling here is anchored by our founder, Edgar Julian Caballero, LPC, and several of our clinicians share the Christian faith – if that matters in choosing who you work with, say so when you reach out and we’ll take it into account.
Christian counseling at Bend Mental Wellness is licensed, professional mental health care that makes room for your faith – not a substitute for it. We treat the same concerns as any therapy practice: anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, life transitions. The difference is that your beliefs, your church community, and your spiritual life are welcome in the room as a source of strength, not treated as something to work around.
You set the terms
How much faith enters your sessions is up to you. Some clients want scripture present in the room – as validation for what they are living through, and for the human condition itself; others simply want the assurance that their therapist takes their faith seriously. Either is fine, and you can change your mind as you go. Underneath, you’re getting the same evidence-based care – CBT, person-centered therapy, and practical tools – that we bring to all our work.

Common questions
Is this the same as talking to my pastor? No – pastoral care and counseling from your church community are valuable, and therapy complements them: it’s confidential, clinical, covered by most insurance, and focused on mental health treatment.
Will you push faith on me – or push it out? Neither. You lead on how your faith shows up in session; our job is skilled, respectful care.
What if my spouse or family member doesn’t share my faith? That’s common, and it’s workable – couples and family work can hold two different worldviews with respect.
