About the Therapist
Some periods of life are just hard. I work with adults and adolescents navigating challenges and unknowns — and I especially welcome men who may be unsure or hesitant about therapy.
I can help with: grief and loss · trauma · anxiety · feeling aimless or stuck · spiritual questions · complicated relationships
I specialize in grief and loss — and I mean more than the death of a loved one. The loss of a job or career, the end of a relationship, relocating, even grief about the environment or politics: loss is a central feature of the human experience, and it deserves real attention.
I tailor my approach to each person, drawing on my own practice and study of Buddhism, my love of ecology and the natural world, and a deep belief in our capacity to transform. Together we might develop mindful awareness, explore the impacts of your personal history, and cultivate compassion. I also facilitate shadow work and parts work.
Counseling is my second career — before this, I spent many years as a filmmaker and cinematographer, work that taught me to look closely and listen well.
I’m a Professional Counselor Associate (Oregon Registration R11216) with a master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark. I see clients in person at my own office in Portland and by telehealth across Oregon.
